Homemade Applesauce

Applesauce is a childhood classic, but often the pre-packaged stuff is full of sugar and calories. Using honey and spices make this applesauce recipe healthy and tasty. This quick and easy recipe will replace store-bought applesauce for you.

Preparation Time: 10 min

Cooking Time: 6 min

Ingredients
  • 3 apples
  • 4 cloves
  • 1/4 cup apple juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon honey
Instructions
  1. Peel, core, and quarter the apples, and place them in a microwave-safe bowl. Add cinnamon, cloves, honey and apple juice to the bowl.
     
  2. Cover the bowl and microwave it on high for 6 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes.
     
  3. Remove the cloves from the bowl and transfer the rest of the contents to a food processor. Puree the mixture for 5-10 seconds.
