Everyone loves chicken and fortunately, chicken is one of the healthiest proteins out there. Here at FaveDiets, we know you want to stay trim, but without missing out on flavor. Low-Fat Apricot Chicken - This unique apricot chicken is a delicious meal that the whole family can enjoy. The kids will love the sweetness of the apricot preserves and the creaminess of the yogurt. They'll never know they are eating a healthy dish.

Easy Garlic Lime Chicken - Try this quick and easy garlic-lime chicken recipe on the grill or on the stove. The chicken is wonderful by itself or served with rice, but would also be excellent filling for a fajita or burrito.
 

Balsamic Raspberry Chicken - This recipe is a wonderful spin on a boring chicken dinner. Add raspberry preserves or fresh pureed raspberries, balsamic vinegar and thyme and you have a gourmet meal on the table.
 

Zesty Lemon Chicken - This refreshing chicken recipe is a great dinner for the whole family. Cut up the leftovers and serve the next day on top of a salad or in a pita with veggies.


Quick Tips and Ideas for Cooking Chicken

  • Rinse chicken with cold water and pat dry with paper towels before preparing. To prevent contamination, be sure to clean all surfaces, utensils, dishes and cutting boards that come in contact with raw chicken.
     
  • When cooking chicken in a pan or skillet, make sure not to crowd the chicken. Leave space between the pieces to allow for uniform browning and cooking.
     
  •  If you marinade chicken before you cook it, be sure to throw the marinade away or create a new one for the cooked chicken. Never reuse marinade that touched raw chicken.
     
  • If you have leftovers, cut the chicken breasts into strips and keep in the fridge. You can use them the next day on a salad, in a sandwich, for tacos or on a pizza.
