Italian Style Meatloaf

Need proof that a delicious meatloaf recipe can be healthy and tasty? Then give this simple meatloaf recipe a try. Lean turkey and herbs combine to make for one of the best meatloaf recipes.

Cooking Time: 5 hr

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground turkey
  • 1 whole egg
  • 3 to 4 slices stale multigrain bread, moistened with warm water
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon sweet basil
  • 1 dash garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
  • 1 dash soy sauce
  • 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 onion, chopped
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients thoroughly. Brush top of meatloaf with soy sauce.
     
  2. Place in slow cooker after shaping loaf well, on a rack or ring of aluminum foil to keep it out of the drippings.  Cook 4-5 hours on high, 8-10 hours on low.
Notes

For easier removal afterwards, line the pot with aluminum foil.
